Description
You can’t visit Bannau Brycheiniog (The Brecon Beacons) without doing this classic route in the heart of the National Park. Taking in two lofty mountains passes, we first start by climbing up past the reservoir to Bwlch y Glasgwn (Blue Valley Pass) & then head down the super flowy mountain track to Cwm Callan. From here it’s around the copper canyon fire road & up to the famous Bwlch ar y Fan, better known as The Gap. After a pause for lunch we start a 3 1/2 km rocky descent down the old drover road to the hill gate. Its then a relatively mellow pedal to the start via a network of small roads, bridleways & the canal towing path. This is a big day out, with big views to match!
